About Proqure

Market memory for steel trade

Built by brothers with 58 years combined experience in steel pipe trading

Origin

Proqure did not originate as a software idea. It originated as a market observation.

In Indian steel trade, demand and supply are abundant. What is scarce is structured visibility, specification clarity, and trust.

Buyers struggle to locate the right suppliers for precise requirements. Suppliers struggle to identify credible demand and manage routine credit risk. Transactions rely heavily on informal networks, phone calls, and WhatsApp — systems that do not retain memory or scale with discipline.

The core insight was simple:

Steel trade does not fail due to lack of platforms. It fails due to lack of market structure and trust memory.

Philosophy

Proqure is built on a deliberate rejection of obvious but flawed solutions.

It is not:

  • A generic procurement OS
  • A lead-generation marketplace
  • A payments, escrow, or fintech intermediary

Those approaches either oversimplify steel trade or distort how it naturally functions.

Instead, Proqure is designed as a vertical, specification-driven RFQ and matching platform for steel, starting with pipes.

It mirrors how steel is actually traded:

  • Precise specifications
  • Negotiation-driven pricing
  • Routine trade credit
  • Relationship-based trust

Our Approach

These design principles guide every decision we make

Specification First

RFQs are structured exactly the way traders think — material, shape, size, thickness, standards, finish, and quantity units. Clear specifications reduce ambiguity, disputes, and wasted negotiation.

Execution Over Discovery

Finding suppliers is not the hard problem. Closing clean, repeatable transactions is. Proqure supports the entire flow from RFQ to PO to order tracking.

Trust as Behaviour, Not Finance

Proqure deliberately does not use escrow, guarantees, or underwriting. Trust is built from observable behaviour over time, not financial intermediation.

Contextual, Progressive Trust

Trust is never binary. Exposure increases gradually based on history, order value, and consistency — exactly how real traders operate.

WhatsApp-Native Adoption

Instead of forcing new habits, Proqure integrates into existing ones. WhatsApp is treated as a first-class interface, not a workaround.

Our Intent

Proqure is not trying to disrupt steel trade.
We are trying to organize it.

Not to eliminate risk —
but to make risk visible, contextual, and manageable.

Not to chase speed —
but to build durable market infrastructure.

Good markets don't remove risk.
They reward good behaviour and remember bad behaviour.

That is the role Proqure is being built to play.
